This catalogue presents a selection of works from the Fonds cantonal d'art contemporain (FCAC) in Geneva, the majority of them recent acquisitions, combined with highlights from the collection. It demonstrates the variety of forms in contemporary art, spanning the more traditional media of painting and sculpture together with photography, video, installation and objects. It is also emblematic of the FCAC's acquisitions policy, which focuses on both new and established art and embraces artists from the city and all over Switzerland, as well as creators from further afield whose work has a link with Geneva.

This book will appeal to all art lovers and offers the chance to discover a little-known collection that has no dedicated exhibition space, and of which the last complete catalogue was published in 1993.
