Quatrième de couverture

Catholicism
Culture
Education

Religion, education and culture are three important themes in the contemporary educational landscape. The Proceedings from the ACISE 2018 Conference offer many rich perspectives on how Catholic education contributes to and is informed by wider cultural developments. This important volume will be a great friend to those who wish to navigate the complex mix of opportunities and challenges which Catholic schools, colleges and universities face today.

The ACISE 2018 Colloquium, at the University of Glasgow (School of Education) on Catholicism, Culture, Education, was a very important moment of intellectual change and reflection. The papers discussed in special moments of debate are now presented to a wider audience. At a time when education is being profoundly challenged by rapid sociocultural developments, the Catholic University responds with a humble and strong source of hope. The Proceedings present different perspectives arising from the interface between culture and religion and present an impressive focus on the response of Catholic Universities to these current cultural challenges. I hope these Proceedings will be disseminated widely and be source of many international debates.
