Quatrième de couverture

In this first monograph, decorator Jonathan Rachman opens the doors to his eclectic, vividly colorful, and markedly refined world. Based in San Francisco, Rachman injects his prestigious projects with a wide-reaching, worldly experience. He blends inspiration from provincial flea markets with his taste for exquisite textiles, leather goods, handicrafts, and art objects, using the finest materials from the East and the West. Each of his decors - distinguished by lively color palettes, luxurious materials, and a couture-quality attention to detail -combines past and present in a timeless yet contemporary approach to interior design that is always classic. Whether outfitting a weekend home in California wine country or appointing a formal estate, his approach remains the same : thoughtful elegance. Rachman believes that every room has a story to tell, and every client's voice is different. His objective is to translate the homeowner's tastes and to create spaces that are both aesthetically inviting and architecturally authentic.
