L'auteure : Salima lkram est professeur d'égyptologie à l'Université américaine du Caire. Après des études d'histoire et d'archéologie au Bryn Mawr College (États-Unis), elle a étudié l'archéologie égyptienne à l'université de Cambridge (Royaume-Uni). Elle a dirigé plusieurs projets archéologiques en Égypte et en Turquie et donné des conférences dans le monde entier, entre autres sur l'alimentation des hommes dans l'Égypte ancienne, leur attitude face à la mort et la momification des êtres humains et des animaux. Auteur de plusieurs livres sur l'Égypte ancienne, elle a aussi publié des articles dans des revues spécialisées et la presse populaire.
The author : Salima lkram is Professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo. After studying History and Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College (USA), she completed her graduate studies in Egyptian Archaeology at Cambridge University (UK). She has worked on and directed several archaeological projects in Egypt and Turkey, and has lectured around the world on subjects including ancient Egyptian food, attitudes to death and the mummification of humans and animals. The author of several books on ancient Egypt, she has also been published in both academic and popular journals.
Die Autorin : Salima Ikram ist Professorin für Ägyptologie an der Amerikanischen Universität in Kairo. Nach ihrem Geschichts- und Archäologiestudium am Bryn Mawr College, USA, studierte sie ägyptische Archäologie an der britischen Cambridge University. Sie war leitend an vielen archäologischen Projekten in Ägypten und der Türkei beteiligt und hält weltweit Vorlesungen zu Themen wie die Speisen der alten Ägypter, ihre Vorstellung vom Tod und die Mumifizierung von Menschen und Tieren. Salima lkram ist Autorin diverser Bücher über das alte Ägypten und veröffentlicht in wissenschaftlichen sowie Publikumszeitschriften.
