Quatrième de couverture

This sixth edition expanded with new vintage years and tasting notes, will appeal to expert tasters as well as gourmet wine lovers or amateurs who are passionate about geosensorial wine tasting. In these pages, the vintages of Burgundy are revealed with simplicity, with all their distinctive features and the astounding aging potential of the greatest among them.

Burgundy wines draw their originality and their classification from the soil from which they spring but their quality is also intimately linked to the climate of every year and the work done by the winegrower.

Jacky Rigaux, eulogist of Burgundy's terroirs, with the help of Henri Jayer's notes and memories and intimate knowledge of the fabulous collection of great wines of Maison Bouchard Père et Fils and the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, recounts the enchanting saga of Burgundy's climates and a hundred years of vintages.
