Founded in 1902, the Alsatian Museum occupies three buildings in Strasbourg. The collections on display and the reconstructed interiors evoke everyday life from the 18th to the early 20th century, presenting either a real or idealised Alsace. With more than 50,000 works and objects bearing witness to the regional culture, this museum of ethnography has changed direction to bring together tradition, contemporary culture and social issues.
