Silences, retenue et économie de moyens composent l'univers de Guðn(...) Rósa Ingimarsdottir. Son atelier est à la fois un cabinet de curiosités et un laboratoire d'expérimentation où l'artiste façonne les matériaux qui s'offrent à elle. Chutes de papier, découpes d'oeuvres précédentes précieusement conservées, petits mots, traces, souvenirs... Autant de fragments épars qui se métamorphosent et s'assemblent par une alchimie subtile, pour constituer un univers singulier où rien n'est jamais figé.
Moments of silence, understatement, economy of means are the main features in Guðn(...) Rósa Ingimarsdottir's universe. Her studio is both a cabinet of curiosities and a research laboratory in which the artist fashions the manifold materials that present themselves to her. Scraps of paper, cuttings from carefully preserved earlier works, seemingly trifling words, traces, mementoes : so many scattered fragments that metamorphose and assemble through a subtle alchemy, making up a singular universe in which nothing is ever hard and fast.
