Quatrième de couverture

The centuries pass and the numerous works of restoration enable the abbey to stand proudly with dignity, a tribute to the faith and spirit of its medieval builders.

It has the power to awaken in each of us : emotion, admiration and contemplation. The church inspires us to face the greatest mystery : the mystery of Creation.

Biographie

A keen historian and writer, Guylaine Joyeux was a local correspondent, interpreter and guide at the Mont St. Michel and, since 1997, guide at Hambye Abbey.

This book is a tribute to her love of the abbey. Over and above the beauty of the stones, Guylaine, through her own sensitivity, has brought life back to this abbey, rich in history, where even today the spirit of its former inhabitants, the monks, can be felt...

Guylaine Joyeux is also author of a book on the abbey on the Mont St. Michel published by OREP Editions.
