Le jardin d'Hermannshof, à Weinheim en Allemagne, est devenu depuis 1983 une référence internationale en matière d'utilisation des plantes vivaces, et le centre de ce qu'on appelle le « Style naturaliste allemand ». L'utilisation des plantes en fonction de leurs milieux y est exemplaire et les plantations de style « prairie » ou « steppe », qui concilient admirablement écologie et esthétique, sont des modèles du genre, y compris pour des jardins de taille modeste.
The garden of Hermannshof, in Weinheim, Germany, has, since 1983, become an international benchmark for the use of perennial plants, and is at the centre of what is called the « German naturalistic planting style ». Its use of plants based on their natural habitats is exemplary, and the meadow, prairie and steppe-style plantings, which beautifully combine ecology and aesthetics, are models of the genre, even for those with small gardens.
