Vingt ans après son inauguration, la pyramide est devenue un symbole du musée du Louvre et même de Paris : plus de huit millions de visiteurs en franchissent les portes chaque année. Ce livre, préfacé par I. M. Pei, retrace les origines du projet et présente sa réalisation illustrée d'un certain nombre de croquis inédits, que l'on doit à l'un des principaux collaborateurs de Pei à l'époque, l'architecte Yann Weymouth.
When it was first announced in 1984, I. M. Pei's project to build a glass Pyramid in the courtyard of the Louvre was considered surprising Twenty years after its inauguration, the Pyramid has become a symbol of the Louvre Museum and, indeed, of Paris : more than eight million visitors pass through it every year. This book, with a preface by I. M. Pei, retraces the origins of the project and presents its realization with a number of previously unpublished sketches by the lead design architect working with Pei at the time, Yann Weymouth.
