Quatrième de couverture

For all who feel stress and nervousness are an unavoidable fact of modern life, one of the great spiritual teachers of our time reminds us that within each one of us is an inner core of peace that we can learn to access at will.

Sage and encouraging counsel, compiled from the talks and writings of Paramahansa Yogananda, shows you how to:

  • overcome fear, worry, anger, nervousness, moodiness
  • stay calmly present and actively focused, no matter what is going on around you
  • experience the expansive timelessness and beauty of each moment.

Practical, inspiring, and highly effective, this book empowers you to transform busy-ness and stress into happiness and peace. Inner Peace offers a potent antidote to our fast-paced world.

Winner of the 2000 Benjamin Franklin Award in the field of Metaphysics/Spirituality

"Ordinary life is like a pendulum, ceaselessly swinging back and forth," writes Paramahansa Yogananda in this uplifting and encouraging book. "The peaceful person remains calm until he is ready to work, then he swings into action. As soon as he is through, he swings back to the center of calmness. You should always be calm, like the pendulum that is still, but ready to swing into steady action whenever necessary."

Peace is not something we can buy. It is something we must learn to find within ourselves. And in today's high-pressure world, the need for inner peace has never been greater. This wise and soothing guide demonstrates how we can be "actively calm" by creating peace through meditation, and "calmly active" - centered in the stillness and joy of our own essential nature while living a dynamic, fulfilling, and spiritually balanced life.
