Protection Law
Around the world, data protection law is a fast-growing field of law. This edition constitutes the first-ever collection of both international and EU hard and soft law on the matter. Gert Vermeulen is Senior Full Professor of (International and European) Criminal Law and Data Protection Law, Director of the Institute for International Research on Criminal Policy (IRCP) and Director of the Knowledge and Research Platform on Privacy, Information Exchange, Law Enforcement and Surveillance (PIXLES) at Ghent University, Belgium. He is also Commissioner at the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Willem Debeuckelaere is President of the Belgian Data Protection Authority and Deputy Chair of the European Data Protection Board (and of its predecessor, the Article 29 Working Party, since 2015). He is also Counsellor at the Court of Appeal of Ghent, Belgium and Guest Professor at Ghent University. Belgium.
