This work is more than just a guide or a monograph, it has a double theme and deals with action figures and licensed products, as well as the two successful film series. It is about what is both a toy and a collector's item : what is sometimes called an « articulated figure », and which some say is a sign of childishness and others a symbol of popular culture.
Intended to be as thorough as possible, this work considers the action figures inspired by the James Bond and Indiana Jones series from all angles for the first time. Endowed with explanations on the collection domain and with complete lists, it is written as much for collectors as for the curious.
Organized in chronological order, this work has bibliographical references, as well as details of each production particularity. It is also accompanied by extensive illustrations, particularly in order to make the identification of rare items easier.
Teacher of history and geography, Nicolas Fleurier is also a specialist in the field of licensed products. He has taught at the Sorbonne recently and has also designed exhibitions, in particular of Star Wars, and has frequented the world of conventions as an exhibitor and then as organiser. Moreover, he is a long-time contributor to Dixième Planète, the first French magazine devoted to licensed products.
