La rochelle
A city between towers
Lulled by the sea and sheltered at the heart of a bay protected by the rocky headlands of Les Minimes and Chef-de-Baie, La Rochelle with its famous towers dominates the mer des Pertuis, once known as the mer de La Rochelle.
It's a place where things happen, which puts on a good show, which exploits its fame to the full.
Mickael Augeron teaches at
the University of La Rochelle.
He is the author of several
publications on colonial and
maritime history.
Christophe Gauriaud is a photographer, with several exhibitions to his name.
