Le Havre, the largest town in Normandy with more than 190,000 inhabitants, is a young town, founded in 1517 by François 1st. Despite the vagaries of History, it has been able to grow, to be reborn from the ashes, to stand, impossible to ignore, at the mouth of the estuary of the Seine.
A town of contrasts, of Art and History, its rebuilt centre has been classed as a World Heritage Site. It surprises and seduces with its modernity and the treasures that have defied time. A seaside holiday resort, a town of international exchange, Le Havre is also one of the great European ports. Between architecture, sea and beach, parks and gardens, port and harbours, heritage and gastronomy, allow yourself to be seduced by this Gateway to the Ocean.
Olivier Bouteiller
Born in Le Havre in 1963, Olivier Bouteiller started his career as a radio journalist before turning his hand to writing. Already author of « Magnificent Normandy », (éditions Déclics), he has also written numerous articles and reports for the press, as well as reviews and other collected works.
Franck Godard
A Norman photographer and illustrator, this 39 years old is based in Etretat. His fields of interest : history and heritage, maritime landscapes and natural beauty. He regularly ploughs the nooks and crannies of the Normandy coast, towns and countryside, capturing atmospheres and undulating lights.
