Le photographe Philippe Debeerst et le rédacteur Dirk De Moor ont rencontré une vingtaine d'artisans et artisanes passionnés par leur métier. Ensemble, ils proposent de découvrir, à travers des photos et des mots, leur parcours, parfois étonnant. Mais aussi ce qui les a poussés à exercer un métier d'art, comment ils ont acquis le savoir-faire qu'il requiert, ainsi que les outils et les matériaux qu'ils utilisent. Ils se sont ainsi aperçus que l'artisanat a bel et bien sa place dans l'économie et la société. Avec une passion dévorante pour moteur. Et rien de moins qu'un résultat impeccable pour objectif. Photographer Philippe Debeerst and editor Dirk De Moor visited twenty crafts-men and women with a passion for their trade. Together, they depicted and wrote about twenty surprising human stories. About what drove them to practice a certain craft, and the skills needed, about the trade itself. But also about their materials or tools, and the years gaining knowledge and expérience. They learnt that artisan crafts definitely have a place in the economy and society. With the artists' continued passion as the driving force. And they won't stop until they have reached perfection. No compromises.
