C'est cet impossible photographique-là que Jean-Luc de Laguarigue affronte ici : photographier dans leur invisibilité même les forces mondiales qui démantèlent la Martinique.
The problem here is to find a way of photographing invisible forces : the monstrous powers of the global economic machine, and the very slight amounts of energy that are putting up some resistance to it. The photographer is attempting somehow to take pictures of an invisible system which is abstract and yet real. This is the impossible photographic task which Jean-Luc de Laguarigue is confronting here : to photograph in their very invisibility the global forces which are destroying Martinique.
