Dans cette librairie, sur la rive gauche, deux écrivains donnent une lecture de l'oeuvre de la poétesse anglaise Stevie Smith. L'une est française, l'autre anglaise. Elles se revoient par la suite, discutent, échangent leurs travaux. Il naît alors une idée: un livre à deux voix, en deux langues, par deux écrivains, chacune traduite par l'autre, un livre à l'identité double.

In the bookshop on the left bank of the Seine, two writers give a reading of the work of the English poet Stevie Smith. One is French, the other British. Later they meet up, discuss, exchange their work. An idea is born: a book with two voices, in two languages, by two writers, each translated by the other, a book with a double identity.
Vivienne Vermes, poète et comédienne anglaise, a publié poèmes, nouvelles et articles, ainsi que des ouvrages spécialisés. Elle a lu ses travaux dans l'Europe entière et a obtenu le Piccadilly Poets' Award en 1997. Son premier recueil de poèmes, Sand Woman, est paru en 2000.
Anne Mounic a traduit des poètes anglais comme Robert Graves, Stevie Smith ou Ruth Fainlight. Elle est l'auteur de romans, nouvelles et poèmes, ainsi que d'essais. Voici l'homme aux bottes rouges, paru en 2002, a été primé en 2003 en Aquitaine. Elle publie Carnet d'Hadès à l'automne 2003 chez l'Harmattan.
Vivienne Vermes is a British poet and performer. She has published ten non-fiction books, as well as numerous poems, short stories and articles, and has read her work throughout Europe. She was winner of the 1997 Piccadilly Poets'Award. Her first book of poetry, Sand Woman, was published in 2000.
Anne Mounic has translated English poets such as Robert Graves, Stevie Smith and Ruth Fainlight. She has written novels, short stories, poems and essays. Voici l'homme aux bottes rouges, published in 2002, won an award the following year in Aquitaine. Her latest novel, Carnet d'Hadès, was pub lished by l'Harmattan in 2003.
