Once Upon A Time... Perfume
Once Upon A Time... Perfume is about the adventures of Houbigant, Pivert, Lubin, Poiret, Guerlain, Chanel, Dior, Hermès and other talented creators who have shaped perfume history. It is also about the birth and growth of the Versailles Osmothèque, an international perfume museum unlike any other. It is more than an Ali-Baba cave concealing yesteryear's treasures : it is an unparalleled olfactory database preserving formulae and providing an essential tool to understanding the world of fragrances. It is not merely a catalogue of present fragrances and a few pointers about future ones : it is also an opportunity to revive great yet forgotten classics.
Once Upon A Time... Perfume is for anyone who appreciates perfume, and for professionals who want to understand more about how perfumery became what it is and delve deeper into France's tradition. It features Parfum Royal, a perfume used in Ancient Rome, and the leading composers' creations.
You can read about and smell 12 eminent perfumes from the past and present in this book
