Pourtant, l'histoire de la maison Porsche le prouve, certains réussissent ce pari. La notoriété des gammes 356 et 911 a beaucoup contribué au mythe Porsche. Cet ouvrage rend hommage au constructeur et aux hommes qui ont créé ces modèles d'exception. Il souligne leur volonté d'évolution permanente et leur sens inégalé de l'esthétique. Ce volume retrace l'histoire de la marque et présente toutes ses créations, des premiers modèles aux plus récents.

Elles constituent pour lui le moyen de locomotion idéal pour se rendre aux Grands Prix qu'il couvre avec ses appareils photo. Dans son actuelle Carrera 4, il peut transporter son encombrant et lourd équipement (escabeau et bagages compris), ou, occasionnellement, jusqu'à 24 cartons de Champagne.
To bring sports cars into the world entails dangers and difficulties, unless they happen to be the scions of the big séries. That can be entirely different as is most impressively illustrated by the history of the Porsche make. The main columns which the Porsche myth rests upon have undoubtedly been the 356 and 911 model ranges. That this is so is an excellent reference for the product and the men behind it and, apart from that, is a triumph of persistent évolution-also in esthetic terms. To report on and to pay homage to this and the Porsche cosmos in general is the main concern of this book.
Rainer W. Schlegelmilch's close ties with the Stuttgart marque are already certified by the fact that he owns his eleventh Porsche today, not least as an adequate means of transport to the grands prix that he covers with his camera. In his current Carrera 4 he is able to tuck away his substantial and weighty equipment including a ladder and the usual luggage or, as the odd alternative, up to 24 six-packs of Champagne.
Sportwagen in die Welt zu setzen birgt Schwierigkeiten und Gefahren, wenn es sich nicht gerade um die Abkömmlinge gro(...)er Serien handelt. Dass es auch ganz anders geht, beweist eindrucksvoll die Geschichte des Hauses Porsche. In das Fundament, auf dem der Mythos Porsche ruht, haben sich vor allem die Baureihen 356 und 911 eingelagert. Dass dies so ist, stellt dem Produkt und den Männern dahinter ein glänzendes Zeugnis aus und ist überdies ein Triumph beharrlicher Evolution auch in ästhetischer Hinsicht. Davon und von vielem anderen berichtet dieses Buch.
Von seiner Bindung an die Stuttgarter Marke zeugt bereits, dass Rainer W. Schlegelmilch heute seinen elften Porsche besitzt, nicht zuletzt als adäquates Transportmittel zu den Grand Prix, über die er mit seiner Kamera berichtet. In seinem aktuellen Carrera 4 vermag er seine umfangreiche und gewichtige Ausrüstung nebst Leiter und Reisegepäck oder gelegentlich bis zu 24 Kartons Champagner zu verstauen.
Encore lycéen, Hartmut Lehbrink était déjà abonné à la mythique revue de Porsche, Christophorus , et rendait régulièrement visite à son rédacteur en chef, Richard von Frankenberg. Celui-ci incarnait à merveille l'idéal professionnel du jeune homme : il était à la fois journaliste et pilote de course. S'il a parfaitement réussi dans le premier de ces domaines, Lehbrink devra toutefois se contenter, sur le plan de la compétition, d'une participation aux essais non chronométrés de la Targa Florio, en 1967, avec la 1 600 Super d'un ami. Il a néanmoins piloté presque toutes les Porsche pour le journal Welt am Sonntag.
Jochen von Osterroth a rejoint World News en 1971, puis est devenu reporter sur les Grands Prix pour rallye racing, RTL, sid, dpa et la presse quotidienne. Quatre ans plus tard, il était chef d'équipe au sein de la plus petite écurie de Formule 1 de tous les temps avec le pilote Harald Ertl.
Even as a pupil Hartmut Lehbrink had subscribed to Porsche's Christophorus magazine and used to haunt its editor in chief Richard von Frankenberg who seemed to have the formula for his own bold career planning : he was both a journalist and a racing driver. Lehbrink had to make do with free practice for the 1967 Targa Florio in a friend's 1 600 Super. But he drove almost all Porsches for Welt am Sonntag.
Jochen von Osterroth joined World News in 1971 and became a Grand Prix reporter for rallye racing, RTL, sid, dpa and various daily newspapers. Four years later, as team boss and sponsor coordinator, he gained experience with the smallest Formula 1 team of all time with the driver Harald Ertl.
Schon als Pennäler bezog Hartmut Lehbrink den Christophorus und suchte regelmä(...)ig dessen Chefredakteur Richard von Frankenberg heim. Der verfügte nämlich über das Rezept für seine eigene kühne Lebensplanung : Er war Journalist und Rennfahrer zugleich. Was Letzteres anbelangt, blieb es bei der Teilnahme am freien Training zur Targa Florio 1967, im 1 600 Super eines Freundes. Lehbrink fuhr fast aile Porsche für die Welt am Sonntag.
Bereits 1971 wurde Jochen von Osterroth Mitarbeiter von World News und Grand-Prix-Reporter bei rallye racing, RTL, sid, dpa und Tageszeitungen. Den Rennsport kennt er aus der Innenansicht : Als Teamchef und Koordinator der Sponsoren sammelte er 1975 Erfahrungen beim kleinsten Formel-1-Team aller Zeiten mit Fahrer Harald Ertl.
