Stanislas Amand, né en 1964, vit entre Toulon et Paris. Formé aux mathématiques puis à la photographie, il a été lauréat de la Villa Médicis en 1997 et collabore régulièrement à des projets d'urbanisme. Ses photographies comme ses films constituent une œuvre attentive à la réversibilité des formes. Notre perception ambivalente des phénomènes s'harmonise ici en une unité presque poétique.
La collection co-éditée par 779 et la Société Française de Photographie donne aux photographes l'occasion de publier un aperçu de leurs récents travaux. Ces monographies explorent la diversité de la photographie contemporaine en offrant une place privilégiée aux images.
Born in 1964, Stanislas Amand lives in Toulon and Paris. Having studied mathematics, then photography, he was a Villa Medici laureate in 1997 and today he regularly contributes to urban planning projects. His photographs and films constitute a body of work attentive to the reversibility of forms. In this work, our ambivalent perception of phenomena harmonizes with poetic unity.
Co-published by 779 and the Société Française de Photographie, this series gives photographers the opportunity to publish a glimpse of their recent work. In providing a privileged place for the image, these monographs explore the diverse aspects of contemporary photography.
Stanislas Amand, geboren 1964, lebt in Toulon und Paris. Nach Ausbildungen in Mathematik und Fotografie war er 1997 Preisträger der Villa Médicis und arbeitet regelmäßig an urbanistischen Projekten. Seine Fotografien bilden gemeinsam mit seinen Filmen ein Werk, das auf die Umkehrbarkeit der Formen abzielt. Unsere ambivalente Wahrnehmung der Erscheinungen wird dabei zu einer poetischen Einheit verbunden.
Diese von 779 und der Société Française de Photographie gemeinsam heraus-gegebene Reihe bietet Fotografen die Möglichkeit, einen Einblick in ihre jüngsten Arbeiten zu geben.
