Richard Texier's work is a constant exploration of the mysteries of the universe. Despite the seemingly humble everyday bronze objects presented here - candelabra, floor lamps, bowls, gueridons, trays - the investigation of the endless possibilities of art applied to the ordinary emerges from the same aspirations that are seen in his large paintings and monumental sculptures. The artist's material seems drawn from the clay of the marshes where he grew up, giving poetic shape to objects springing from his child- hood and his dreams. Richard Texier's realm, inhabited by trees and mythical animals, presents a vision of a world in which nature has recovered its cosmic power. It is from within this vision that Michel Onfray, in an especially probing introductory text, is able to define the quantum mythology of Richard Texier.
