Quatrième de couverture

Snow, Ice and Mixed is a comprehensive, 2-volume guide to all the mountaineering routes within the Mont-Blanc Range. Recognised reference work for all mountaineers who climb in the undisputed world capital of mountaineering, the guidebook has now been completely updated, expanded, corrected and reorganised. As a result, this third edition not only describes numerous new routes, it also takes into account changes in climbing conditions and the latest developments in approaches to mountaineering.

In volume 1, François Damilano catalogues 772 cols, couloirs, gullies and mixed climbs in the eastern part of the range. The basin-by-basin presentation, organised according to usual access points, includes :

  • Descriptions of each hut and bivouac shelter,
  • Brief descriptions of each route,
  • One or more photographs showing the line of each route.

Volume 1 covers the eastern half of the range, from the Orny-Trient to the Géant Basin.

Volume 2 covers the western half of the range, from the Envers des Aiguilles to the Tré-la-Tête Basin.
