Quatrième de couverture

Awarded Best Book on Donce by the Syndicat Professionnel de la Critique de Théâtre, Musique et Danse in 2010.

Contemporary dance is as seductive as it is unsettling. Provocative, funny, challenging, touching; dance con at times be perceived as inaccessible. Yet for over thirty years, dance has been shattering our deeply-held beliefs and offering new perspectives on the world around us. Today, the wide variety of dance styles, the mixing of genres, and its interplay with the worlds of theater, music, and the visual arts have given dance new creative potential.

This richly illustrated book offers a comprehensive and accessible introduction to contemporary dance, outlining its origins, current movements, and emerging trends emanating from across the globe. Talk About Contemporary Dance captivates the reader and offers the keys to understand and appreciate this vibrant art form.
