Au cours des dernières décennies, le système de propriété intellectuelle a connu des changements significatifs en lien avec l'émergence de nouvelles formes d'innovation et de création. Les défis posés par l'essor des moyens de communication, par l'expansion du commerce international, par la mise en oeuvre de plans d'actions répondant aux enjeux environnementaux, culturels et de santé publique, ont profondément influencé des domaines où la propriété intellectuelle joue un rôle important. Afin d'adapter le régime de la propriété intellectuelle à ce nouveau contexte, d'importantes initiatives sont en cours au niveau européen et international. Elles engagent une réflexion collective et nécessitent un véritable débat.
Dans cette perspective, cet ouvrage présente les réflexions de hauts représentants des institutions publiques dans le domaine de la propriété intellectuelle, d'universitaires de renom en droit et en économie, de professionnels et de représentants d'industries à forte composante de propriété intellectuelle, sur les axes de développement futurs des systèmes européen et international de propriété intellectuelle dans un monde en mutation. Ce volume contient les contributions présentées lors du colloque international célébrant le 50ème anniversaire du Centre d'Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle (CEIPI), organisé à Strasbourg au Conseil de l'Europe les 27 et 28 novembre 2014.

Over the past decades the intellectual property System has witnessed significant changes due to new patterns of innovation and novel forms of creation. The challenges posed by the spread of new means of communication, the growth of international trade, the rise of development agendas related to global environmental, cultural and Health concerns, have deeply influenced various areas where intellectual property matters. In order to adapt the intellectual property régime to this new context, important initiatives are underway at the European and international level, calling for collective reflection and debate.
This book presents refractions of high-ranking intellectual property officials and representatives of public institutions, renowned scholars in law and in economies, professionals and representatives of intellectual property rights intensive industries on the ways for future development of the European and international intellectual property Systems in a globalized world. This volume of the books series results from the international conference celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI), organized in Strasbourg on the 27 and 28 November 2014 at the Council of Europe.
