This book presents a selection of emblematic artworks from the Donation Yvon Lambert. In 2012, art dealer Yvon Lambert made a donation to the French state : a unique collection of nearly six hundred artworks from his personal collection. Reflecting his work as a gallerist from Vence to Paris, via New York, this ensemble is conserved by the Centre National des Arts Plastiques and has been presented to the public since 2000 at the Collection Lambert in Avignon. It is one of the most original and personal collections ever offered to the public eye, a « series of emotions » acquired over almost seventy years by a passionate and audacious man, attuned to the tumults of the history of his time. Original contributions from the art historians and critics invited to provide their views on this exceptional ensemble also enable us to grasp the evolution of the world of Western art, from the 1960s to the present day.
