Charles Trang, spécialiste reconnu, nous présente une centaine de photos inédites, issues d'archives de vétérans, sur une division très peu couverte par les correspondants de guerre. Nous trouverons ici des photos de grenadiers de la 10.SS-Panzergrenadier-Division Karl der Grosse à l'entraînement dans le Sud-Ouest et le Sud de la France en 1943. Redénommée 10.SS-Panzer-Division Frundsberg fin 43, cette unité sera engagée en 1944 en Galicie puis en Normandie. Charles Trang est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages publiés aux Editions Heimdal : La Division Florian Geyer, Totenkopf et les Leibstandarte.

Photographs of 10.SS-Panzerdivision « Frundsberg » are somewhat rare. This is why it seemed interesting to publish the following, taken from private collections. The photographs included in the first part of the book come from an album with no captions which belonged to an unidentified veteran. The pictures he left indicate he was an infantryman. The second part of the book is made of photographs from three different sources : the first two come from albums of SS-Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 10 former soldiers, a unit dissolved in mid-January 1944 and absorbed into SS-Panzer-Regiment 10, and the last one comes from a collection which belonged to a 1 .Kp./SS-Pz.Gren. Rgt.21 veteran. In every case, most of the photographs were taken during the summer of 1943.
