This bilingual dictionary devoted to current threats includes all kinds of threats, either inside the home country (homeland security) or outside of it. Beyond words and phrases required to describe them, it also includes all the vocabulary necessary to prevent them and to deal with them.
This terminology is useful both to operate within a national framework and within an international framework (coalitions, UNO, NATO).
This dictionary includes more than 17 000 words and phrases in English and in French. It also includes about 9 000 English acronyms and 2 400 French ones.
Jean-Claude Laloire is graduated from ESSEC (economies and business management) and ISUP (mathematics). As a linguist, he has been both a translator/interpreter in the French Ministry of Defense and a teacher at advanced military education level : Staff College/CAS3, French Joint War College (formerly CID), Center for Higher Military Studies (CHEM), and « Gendarmerie Nationale ». He has forty years' experience. As a translator, he has worked more specifically with CDEF (French Army's Forces Employment Doctrine Center). He is an OLRAT (French Army Reserve language-expert officer) Lieutenant Colonel. He is a Commander in the Order of Merit.
