foreword by General Jean-Marc Ripoll
This engineer dictionary includes all the aspects of civil engineering and combat engineering; it is a very useful book when dealing with all building aspects, but also regarding defense and security- both at home and abroad: mobility support, countermobility, and also topography and meteorology.
For example, it includes the latest changes regarding mines and booby-traps - and more specifically IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices); wherever you operate, you come across them, i.e. during humanitarian operations or military ones.
This dictionary is a must for all experts in this field, but it also aims to undergraduates in civilian engineering and combat engineering; it is also a specialized tool for translators and interpreters, and more specifically within NATO framework.
Jean-Claude Laloire (ESSEC- and ISUP-graduated) is both a translator / interpreter in the French MoD / SoD and a teacher at advanced military education level: CHEM (Center for Higher Military Studies), École de Guerre - formerly CID (French Joint War College), and «Gendarmerie Nationale». He has over thirty years' experience.
He is an OLRAT (French Army reserve language-expert officer) with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He is a Commander in the Order of Merit.
